MEDICAL ASSISTANT

A Medical Assistant is a vital member of the healthcare team, providing essential support in clinical and administrative settings. They play a key role in enhancing patient care and ensuring smooth operations within medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Duties: Medical Assistants perform various clinical tasks, including taking medical histories, measuring vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, assisting physicians during examinations, and administering medications as directed.

  • Administrative Duties: They are responsible for managing patient records, scheduling appointments, processing insurance claims, and coordinating communications between patients and healthcare providers.

  • Patient Interaction: Medical Assistants often serve as the first point of contact for patients, offering a welcoming environment and addressing inquiries regarding treatment and procedures.

  • Monitoring Equipment: They assist in maintaining and sterilizing medical equipment, ensuring that all tools are ready for use and comply with safety standards.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certificate in Medical Assistant, allowing the student to sit for the NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam.
